Notes about Team Fortress 2 network problems "for those of us who do"
I only realized how poorly Team Fortress Two was optimized recently, after my friend suggested installing it. My PC runs all games smoothly, I can chat in parties on the Xbox app without problems, and my native type stays open. However, once I installed TF2, things got messy—my native type would close near the Xbox app, causing a Teredo error. I’m sure Discord worked fine, but why does the Xbox app behave differently with TF2? It seems like it might be related to the game itself or my internet connection, even though the Xbox network settings show everything is open and correct before launching TF2.
You choose the Xbox app because it offers a smoother experience compared to Discord, especially when paired with Steam. It also better supports older games like TF2, which the Xbox app tends to handle more effectively.
Other possibilities could exist, but adjusting the dx settings might help. It seems the default is dx9. Trying borderless mode instead of fullscreen could also improve the result.
Team Fortress 2 remains classic. It's simply the Xbox version, and it would likely feel the same in Half Life 2.
You're right. I typically rely on the Xbox app when my friends don't have Discord or when I want to chat with someone in the military. I also use Discord often, but I try to keep things balanced.
