Microsoft seems to be releasing an update for Windows firmware targeting the Surface Go tablet line. Version 1.0.34.0 came out at the end of May 2022 and is leading to many Surface Go 4G 64GB eMMC units failing to boot due to a "No bootable device" warning. The discussion suggests Microsoft is aware of the problem but hasn't addressed it beyond returning affected devices for a $250 replacement. The Surface Go UEFI version 1.0.34 is reportedly causing this issue.
