Not sure which memory speed is compatible with the HP ProBook 430 G5
Check the details of the memory you plan to install. The current stick is labeled Micron 4GB 1Rx16 PC4-2666V-SC0-11, but the BIOS says it runs at 2133 MHz. HP specs mention a maximum of 32 GB DDR4 at 2400 MHz, but the BIOS explicitly states 2133 MHz. The specs also note dual-channel support and mention a CPU that supports 2400 MHz. It seems the installed memory is being limited to 2133 MHz even though it supports higher speeds. You should verify with the manufacturer or a reliable source to confirm if dual-channel 2400 MHz sticks are actually supported. Trusting the HP specs might be safer unless you confirm compatibility with your specific model.
I believe HP is reliable, but I also feel it’s wise to keep things cautious. Most likely the motherboard’s BIOS will slow down the RAM after setup to reach 2133MHz.
Max memory performance reaches 2133MHz on the 430 G5 with a 7th generation processor, and 2400MHz with an 8th generation CPU. A 7100u will not exceed 2133MHz speed.
