Checking each manufacturer's website for drivers seems like a solid approach. It’s likely the most reliable way to ensure compatibility.

Which additional drivers require regular updates? I've only changed my GPU drivers... Could there be an issue?

I didn't quite understand what you were asking first & still leaves me in the wind, are you testing out different driver updates with gaming benchmarks? don't pop-ups occur in your Windows/Mac os informing you about recent/next updates? I know that with some software like the one @ Jodomcfrodo suggested Geforce Exp isn't there an option to opt in/out of updates.
