I'm not sure if this belongs to GPU or Troubleshoot. If you remember this article, I still think an eGPU is useful today. I bought a Thunderbolt 3 eGPU for around US$180, including case, module, and a 1000W power supply. The previous owner lost the original screws for the enclosure—both the side panel and PCIe brackets. I don’t know the exact size, but it seems to be an M2 screw.
SIDE NOTE: Yes, I’ve played esports games like Overwatch 2 and CS2, and everything works fine. But Valorant has a strange issue—audio cuts off after a second in the menu. I tried disabling Nvidia HD audio and using BT audio, but it still happens.
For the screen, there’s a lot of tearing, probably because I need a portable monitor for my work during travel. For those curious about the GPU, it’s my GTX 1070 (active June 12, 2016, retired since Sept 1, 2022). Here’s a photo after I unplugged the power cord and TB3/4 cable: The GPU I’ll actually use for my overseas trip is a LP GTX 1050 Ti—it’s surprisingly small.
