Not Sure if I Should Overclock
Not Sure if I Should Overclock
I don’t have much knowledge about laptops or computers in general, so this might be a simple question. I’ve just begun playing a game on my Toshiba Satellite C75D. The recommended minimum for it to run well is 2 GHz. My laptop only has 1.8GHz. I saw the same model online and noticed it offers a 2.4GHz boost if that matters. While the game is running, I switch to Task Manager and see the CPU usage stays around 60%. Could overclocking help? If yes, what should I adjust? My laptop’s specs are: AMD A6-6310 APU with AMD Radeon R4 Graphics at 1.80 GHz. It has 6.00 GB of RAM.
Don't worry about changing settings on a laptop, it only increases the heat and reduces battery life. The charger and power circuit will also face more strain. This is why laptop BIOS tends to be more limited compared to desktops. A small adjustment here won't significantly boost performance, as the gains are minimal.
