I have an Intel i9-9900k chipset, a Maximus XI Hero board, and an EVGA 750 GQ power supply. I connected the 24-pin EATXPWR cable from my PSU to the motherboard. The MOBO lists both an EATX12V_1 (8-pin) and an EATX12V_2 (4-pin) socket. Do I also need cables for these from the PSU? My PSU didn’t come with compatible connectors, but I saw advice suggesting compatibility for overclocking. Any suggestions?

According to what I understand, you only require an 8-pin connector. Adding a 4-pin is typically unnecessary.

You mentioned missing the 8-pin EPS cable with the PSU. That seems unlikely, but if it did occur, reach out to EVGA—they’ll provide the cable—or initiate a return or replacement. On the image, the EPS wires are labeled "CPU."

Both of your CPU cables and the MOBO connectors are designed for female connections, so they should fit together without issues.

It wouldn't begin with only the 24-pin cable; adding an extra 4-pin (later an 8-pin) became the norm over fifteen years ago. Verify the cables included with the PSU—they should match. Even though both connectors appear female, the mainboard connector is male.

Examine the 4/8pin socket on the motherboard carefully. Notice the pins on the male side. Then inspect the PSU connector closely—it has hollow pins on the female side.
