Not sure about my water cooler
I recently acquired the DEEPCOOL RGB Water Cooler with features like RGB lighting, Aio cooling, a 120mm fan, and the Captain 120EX RGB. I'm uncertain if it's effectively cooling my I7 7700k. It's connected to the AIO pump and H_AMP pin. Have others used this cooler? My CPU is still reaching temperatures above 80°C.
did you link the pump (block over cpu) to the CPU_Fan header?
did you apply thermal paste between your pump and cpu?

I did use thermal paste—it came with the base plate, but I added a bit extra since I accidentally removed some.
The pump is in the AIO_pump, and the fan that comes with it is connected to the H_AMP _Fan.
I have one similar but with red coolant. It functions well for me, though did you install thermal paste and is it correctly placed on the CPU? The paste was already there but I added a bit extra after rubbing some off by accident, and it is indeed seated properly.
Does your pump include controls for adjusting speed, and is there software available to manage these features? I’m not sure if upgrading to the Captain 240 might be necessary, as I don’t have the pricing details.
Does your pump have the controls for adjusting speed, and I also notice it includes software for that? I wouldn't want to suggest upgrading unless you're considering the Captain 240, as I'm unsure about its cost. Sadly, the switches are only for the RGB on the water block, and my case likely won't support the Captain 240.
Kasper Jorgensen explains that during stress testing at 80°C the CPU isn't a big concern, but running very hot under gaming suggests a problem. He notes this often occurs when playing for more than an hour in Rainbow Six Siege, possibly due to the HD texture pack being installed.
