I also tried different cables.
I borrowed another power supply to test, but it doesn’t seem to fit my card properly with the available cables. It has a PCIe cable similar to the one shown, but on the 2 section of the 6+2 side, only one connector is rounded and it doesn’t match the card.
Notably, when I connect just the 6 port and attempt to power it on, the same issue occurs as with the other PSU (RGB RAM lights up but nothing else).
I’m not sure what this means.
(My original PSU isn’t modular, so cables can’t be shared)

Just a note, never use various power supply cables. Not all are wired alike. You might end up damaging the PC.

Are you certain you're not confusing motherboards with 8-pin plugs and the PCI-E 6+2 connection?

I believe the same cable was connected to the GPU of the device I had it from. The motherboard connector divides into two 4-pin sections.

As long as you're certain I only wanted to let you know.

I managed to test my PSU on another machine using the K80 and obtained the same outcome.
This means:
two machines/mobos with this PSU, neither of which boots with the K80
a third machine with a different PSU that can boot with the K80
It's not conclusive evidence, but the PSU seems questionable. I plan to replace it tomorrow.

the two pins on the 6+2 plug can move together before connecting it to the GPU
