Hi, I recently assembled a NAS from some old components and it was functioning well. Recently, I powered down the NAS nightly and upon waking it refused to start. It booted but failed to load FreeNAS software. To verify the issue, I connected a USB drive with Windows and successfully opened the installer. After downloading the latest FreeNAS version, it also booted. I then updated via the installer, but creating a new boot drive didn’t resolve the problem. I’m unsure what to do next and would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

Verify your system info and confirm the storage device is recognized correctly. Are there Freenas files on a USB or SATA card? iXsystems now advises against using USB drives for stability reasons with SATA drives.

It is functioning now. I disconnected all other drives and then connected them one by one to identify the issue.
