Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition was built specifically for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, excluding PC support. The studio confirmed no additional DLC or upgrade options will be released. Users are left wondering if future updates will include the next-gen Lara model. While PC players may still find some comfort in the "at this time" assurance, the lack of plans is frustrating. Modders might find new opportunities to contribute.

The explanation is that you can quickly find a mod to mimic the official release at no additional cost. See how an ENB mod appears in the game when it hasn’t been released yet.

We already possess superior visuals compared to previous consoles, and now we seem to match the capabilities of newer systems like the PS4 and Xbox One. The need for a definitive version may be overstated unless there are future improvements in graphics.

The new Lara isn't the same as the first one we received; there doesn't seem to be a significant change.

It's really challenging to find and share game code due to copyright restrictions.

I believe this update matches the version available for PC. The newer consoles can now handle TressFx, or it may be referred to differently.

If it's the same game, I don't mind minor visual changes.

Reminds me of the NBA 2K14 match which appears astonishingly superior on PS4/Xbone compared to my GTX 780 since they directly adapted the 360/PS3 release for PC and then upgraded the latest releases. It’s regrettable in hindsight. Still, based on screenshots from Tomb Raider, I’d say the PC version looks more polished overall.

Sorry mods, old thread, I know.. but we need a BUMP! Update: Google still has no updates as to whether Eidos/SE are planning a Def. edition for PC. Yes, for once, consoles look better than the PC version (as far as my reading goes online, and, in certain situations/areas/maps of the game.) Now, we need the definitive edition on PC and I haven't heard a word yet from the devvies.

The question explores why certain content isn't available on PC and whether the gaming community feels overlooked by Eidos. It seeks insight into platform limitations and the perception of neglect.
