For troubleshooting or extra visuals, or when your card is offline and you need to show an image, a second monitor needs minimal resources. The amount depends on the situation.
It doesn’t work. There’s no real benefit to using the iGPU concurrently, except for debugging purposes.
Set up all components on your 1080ti, keeping the iGPU active in BIOS. It's suitable for transcoding tasks.
Not this for me—I have a deal for a brand new, unopened 9900K at 120€. Thanks for the info! I was thinking about troubleshooting, but I guess I’ll just leave it in BIOS and connect both monitors to the 1080Ti. My second screen is mainly for Teamspeak, Spotify, YouTube, and Netflix while I play games on the first one. Transcoding doesn’t really help since I’ll just use the CPU for gaming, not for any serious work.
I've experienced GPUs failing multiple times and relied on the integrated graphics to rule out motherboard issues before adding another GPU. They seem limited in what they can do, which is why I still prefer having them.
It can help with QSV. Besides that, it serves as a kind of backup display adapter, I suppose.
