They're essentially correct. The Windows 10 key was an OEM product, valid only for the original motherboard. For Windows 8, you can obtain drivers from Samsung. Insert the USB drive and when prompted about installation, direct it to the appropriate folder on that device. Windows will then recognize the drive.
I might have saved the 7 somewhere, but could I face the same problem with an NVME M2 card?
