Not possible to increase RAM speed in dual-channel setup
Not possible to increase RAM speed in dual-channel setup
Hi everyone.
Here are the details of my PC configuration:
Memory: Aorus B450 elite v1
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 OC 3.95ghz at 1.35v
Graphics: Palit GTX 1060 6gb
Power Supply: Enermax Revobron 600w
RAM: HyperX Savage 2x8 kit DDR4-3000 15-17-17-39 1.35v (2 and 4 slots)
My previous HyperX Fury ddr4 2400 2x4 kit RAM could reach up to 2933mhz without issues, though it needed some high timings for booting. The new RAM is capping at 2733mhz even with CL25 and 1.4v. When using only one stick at a time, it functions at 2933, but since it's single channel, it doesn't solve the problem.
I've experimented with:
- All possible slot setups
- BIOS updates and downgrades
- Resetting BIOS settings
- Overclocking CPU to 4.1Ghz
- Raising SOC voltage to 1.1v
- Setting extreme timings and voltages
Trying to overclock one stick at a time, then another, sometimes it works—especially when both are set to 2800mhz with XMP-3000mhz settings. However, the system remains unresponsive, only showing a VGA light and failing to boot or loop.
Sometimes loosening the CPU cooler screws helps, but I didn't tighten them tightly during setup.
I've read many discussions and tried every possible fix, but nothing seems to work. I really appreciate any advice on this overclocking issue.
The supported specifications include 16GB memory at 3000MHz. The HX430C15PB3K2/16 model has been tested, and no further solutions were found.
