Using the analog sticks feels natural since I'm familiar with the dualshock 2, though getting used to it can take some time if you're new. I'm not sure how it compares on the Xbox One, but I prefer mine because of the dual analog sticks which simplify movement and aiming. Diagonal arrows don't feel the same. I mainly play third-person titles, like GTA IV, which feels more natural with a controller. For first-person games, I set up my keyboard layout carefully: ESDF for movement, QWRT for leaning (if possible), and quick actions such as switching weapons or using health. Then L. SHIFT for sprinting/running, L. CTRL for crouching, and L. ALT for jumping—most people jump with the spacebar, but I'm used to this setup. The numpad handles extra functions; for example, in Fallout 4 it always shows 0 when a torch is present. If it's simpler, I map each key to a specific action. I also have mods that add more keys than the original game, with extra options in the YHN column. It works well with my keyboard setup.

It's not about overall problems, but adjusting to FPS with a controller after using MnK for years. I struggled more with FPS compared to other genres, especially after the switch. MnK is strong in top-level competition, which matters for experienced players. The controller tends to be a disadvantage at high levels because of limited movement and slow sensitivity in games like Overwatch, COD, Apex Legends, Fortnite, etc. Those games had some controller strategies when MnK wasn't as popular, but it mainly depended on the aim assist being disabled for a while.

I enjoy playing many heroes and definitely use kbm for some, such as Genji (not only for aiming but also movement). Widow... But you can also play something like Ramattra Vua with a controller—Rein doesn’t even have a gun, and Moira has no weapons at all. I spend a lot of time on Kiriko; her aim is quite unusual, making it hard to say what matters most. It took me two years to grasp it, but now I understand she’s incredibly strong. Without a doubt, she’s the strongest hero in the game, and once you can actually aim well, it becomes really enjoyable. Like I think certain heroes click with me (no joke), while others don’t—that’s partly because of the controller. Mei is also very good; top-level kbm might help, but her aim is still odd. Once you get the hang of it, it feels natural. TL;DR: partially yes, but Ow isn’t the best example—it’s more about positioning than just aiming (except for heroes like Widow and Ashe).

Absolutely, I’m focusing on the highest level play, aiming for the top 0.5% or better. Probably only a small fraction benefit significantly, and even then it doesn’t change much based on character choice. When OW launched, I was in Masters rank during Seasons 2 and 3, mainly using maining tanks. I believed my mouse control really mattered in some situations that wouldn’t have been possible with just a controller. Most of those moments involved sharp turns over 180 degrees or precise hook movement on Roadhog—back then the mouse was essential for that. I’m not sure if it’s still possible, and I haven’t even played OW2 yet. It didn’t seem to greatly affect my chances of reaching Master, since most of the effort was about strategy rather than aiming. Still, it felt like it had some impact on me.
