Hi, I performed an update for Davinci Resolve, NVIDIA drivers, and Windows 10 on November 28, 2024. The machine froze with a spinning wheel on the motherboard screen, only allowing access to BIOS. My friend suggested removing the BIOS battery for a short time before reinserting it. Now I can’t enter BIOS or start the computer.
PC Specifications: Motherboard – Asus Tuff Gaming x570-plus (WiFi), CPU – AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, RAM – 2 × Skill Ripjaw 16GB, two grey slots, farthest right, GPU – Gigabyte NVIDIA 3080 Turbo 10GDD Rev1.0 AIO, Cooler Master (three fans on top), AIO GPU Alpha Cool EISWOLF2 (vertical hoses on bottom with three fans), Intake – three fans at bottom of case, PSU – 9 Lian Li Gen 1 Uni fan, 120/1000W, standard 80Gold, unknown brand), runs four monitors daily. Pressing F2 or Delete doesn’t boot BIOS anymore. I’ve tested three different keyboards and USB ports; everything worked until the update. I managed to boot into BIOS before removing the battery, but after reinserting it still can’t access BIOS.
You don’t need to refresh your BIOS solely due to its age. In reality, keeping it unchanged is preferable unless a particular function or stability upgrade is required.
The latest patch appears to resolve compatibility issues with my recent GPU upgrade. I'm now trying to fix the problem of Windows not recognizing my video storage HDD.
