Hi there, anyone interested in assisting me would be grateful. I just swapped in a Ryzen 2700X instead of a 2600, and now the RGB lights on my RAM turn on when power is supplied but the system won’t power up at all. After taking it out, I removed the cooler and CPU, cleaned the thermal paste, but found the thermal paste touching two connectors at the bottom—seeing the photo. Could this be the reason behind the issue?

If the past is conductive, that might be possible. However, if not, I question it. After cleaning, verify the socket as well to ensure no residue remains. Even if this was the cause, I’d anticipate some reaction when attempting to power it on—such as a shutdown or CPU error.

I just tested it and still saw the RGB on the RAM sticks. It seems like the power button might be the issue.

These pins can launch the PC quickly, though it may be tricky when placed in a case.

Yessir, no problem Jump the two pins circled to 10 seconds. Do this before you power on the PC with the 2700x installed. It's a must do anytime you install a new cpu on any PC.
