It seems Microsoft was concealing something beyond just the admin issue.

Observing the issue, it appears the "Windows 11 bug" that impacted Zen5 also reduced Zen4/7000 performance somewhat. I’m unsure if it’s also influencing Windows 10, which is commonly used by many.

It's a Windows 11 update with AMD tweaks for Zen 4 and 5. Many games see improvements, though three are less impacted—Starfield is one example. Performance boosts are significant in most cases.

Win11 kept adding more glitches, it was really annoying.

The admin issue was a glitch. It doesn’t make sense to provide these benefits to Windows 10 users—they’d never upgrade, by the way. No changes to Intel were made. I’m curious about how this impacts the 7800X3D tests... Would you mind asking Steve to do more on this?

Handheld devices, because any IPC improvements such as branch prediction will gradually reach the Z1 Extreme's Zen4 CPU cores. The same applies to the upcoming HX 370 Ryzen AI chips.

It's solely a Windows 11 update with the 24H2 release included. Windows 10 hasn't received the patch yet, and no official timeline is set. The focus is on reviewing the update, not comparing versions. This isn't about a direct upgrade from Windows 10 to 11; rather, support for Windows 10 is expected to end soon, making further fixes less urgent.

October '25 is it? I’m curious about how this release affects thermals and power usage. It seems Steve didn’t share any figures there. Also, why didn’t AMD inform everyone at launch? Microsoft should have collaborated with AMD to achieve those improvements… maybe it’s still in Steve’s spam folder...?

It didn't really highlight the 9000 series specs, did it? It only pointed out missing performance in all Zen 4 and Zen 5 models. The 9700X improved from a 1% to a 2% boost over the 7700X. Since the 9700X is more expensive than a 7800X3D yet underperforms significantly in gaming tasks, it's tough to convince gamers. Even the productivity gains aren't much better than those of the 7800X3D. A processor designed mainly for gaming?

it's recommended to verify compatibility with Windows prior to release. considering recent issues like Zen 4, delays have occurred, and quick fixes haven't happened if feedback was poor.
