Not found a shared printer available.
We possess an outdated Citizen CT-S2000 receipt printer at work.
It was previously connected to our server via a Windows XP thin client.
We had to upgrade to a new printer running Windows 10.
I have configured and shared the printer on the current system, but the server is unable to locate it.
The server is operating on Windows Server 2012.
File and printer sharing is enabled.
Do you have any suggestions?
Windows 10 relies on a more recent SMB version by default, but you might need to activate an older one for compatibility with Server 2012.
So I explored SMB. 2012 appears to be functioning similarly to Windows 10.
Activating older versions didn't change the outcome.
I experimented with various solutions and delved into numerous troubleshooting steps, attempting to resolve the error codes (0x0000011b, 0x0000052E, 0x00000040).
I also tried connecting to the printer from another Windows 10 machine.
I attempted to connect and share a different printer (a standard Brother model) from the same system to determine if the issue was specific to the receipt printer.
Both the other Windows 10 and the 2012 systems could access the shared printers, but they refused to establish a connection.
It seems that sharing a printer from Windows 10 might not always be feasible, perhaps.
I miss the days of Windows 7 and workgroups.
