I bought a gaming desktop from Walmart, but it only came with one stick of 16GB RAM. I’m having trouble finding another stick online. Anyone know if there’s an alternative? Here’s a picture of what came with my PC. Thanks for your help.

Avoid randomly selecting DDR5 modules, even identical ones. Skip kits with CL38 ratings; opt for a more suitable option instead.

Avoid searching for a compatible stick. Buy a fresh 2xX set (a complete package, not separate pieces with identical numbers). The likelihood of discovering a suitable match is very low, ranging from zero to none.

Awesome. You're welcome for the quick response! I'm new to RAM and this is my first gaming setup. The RAM you mentioned matches what my PC currently has. Is it quicker than what I have now? Thanks again, everyone for your fast replies!

Ram is sold in kits for a specific purpose.
A motherboard needs to handle all the RAM according to the same voltage, case, and speed requirements.
The internal design is tailored to the capacity of the kit.
Ram from the same manufacturer and part number might vary in manufacturing over time.
Some motherboards are quite sensitive to these changes.
This becomes more challenging when multiple sticks are used.
Adding a second similar stick could help, but you may need to adjust the BIOS settings for RAM and voltage.
There’s no certainty that everything will function correctly.
Each RAM stick runs in single-channel mode, typically at 3000 speed.
A dual-stick kit would significantly improve performance.
A 2 x 16GB kit with DDR5 6000 speed RAM costs around $100.
Most kits should work, but it’s best to choose one explicitly supported for your motherboard.
Your motherboard will be listed in the motherboard tab when you run cpu-Z.
Ram suppliers offer support apps where you can input your motherboard model and receive a list of compatible RAM options.
