Hello! I own a laptop. Six months ago, I began using an ethernet cable and everything functioned properly. Then I realized that whenever I unplugged the ethernet port to move around the room, my laptop would fail to recognize my wifi signal. Usually, just restarting the PC resolved the issue, but it wasn't ideal because my restart process is slow (due to an HDD drive). I thought things couldn’t get worse, so my brother attempted troubleshooting three days ago and now restarting doesn’t work either.

NOTE: My laptop can detect every other wifi within the building without problems. Other devices in my home connect to the router via wifi normally. Thanks for your time.

The laptop uses a specific WiFi adapter model. The router comes with its own brand and model details, and it operates on standard wireless protocols. I haven’t restarted the router yet.

Looking for details about the Qualcomm Atheros AR956x adapter in Wi-Fi settings. Let me know when you locate it. This laptop isn’t picking up the network beyond Ethernet, so the issue might be with the wireless configuration.

The wireless configurations could differ between your AR956x and other devices, even though they work fine elsewhere. Consider performing a wireless scan on the affected computer using WiFi Analyzer (available in the MS store). Share the results from the 'Analyze' section for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
