If anyone manages to uncover the source code for those consoles, we'll have reliable emulators soon. It's just a matter of time.

Last of Us originated from an independent Sony development team. These titles aren't released for PC because it simply isn’t worth the investment compared to what consoles offer. Last of Us remains unavailable on PC just like Mario and Zelda do. Such studios might even incur losses to promote their exclusive titles, often receiving extensive coverage for months (as seen with Uncharted) before launching them. The funds spent on Halo 5 will be massive. Other Sony exclusives like Rise of the Tomb Raider are merely standard releases without much innovation. Third-party titles such as Rise of the Tomb Raider appear to be a misstep by Microsoft, delaying or denying PC availability despite prior announcements. Third-party exclusivity should be criticized across all media and is clearly detrimental to the gaming scene. Sony also treated Bloodborne poorly, similar to other cases, and it deserves criticism for not being released on PC. New releases shouldn’t come with third-party restrictions, and purchasing a console without first-party content isn’t advisable. A PS4 priced at $250 with Uncharted next year sounds much more appealing than its current cost. Consider buying Bloodborne used for just five dollars when you get a PS4—making the investment worthwhile.

Pirating games for consoles is quite frequent. Whenever I find a new release on a torrent site for Xbox or PS, many downloads occur, just like with any PC version. These titles aren't available on PC since Sony requires them for console sales. The Xbox One idea doesn't really exist (the concept itself), so the main rivalry between Sony and Microsoft is over exclusive games. Both systems offer similar performance and graphics, making them comparable; manufacturers therefore focus on these types of titles to boost sales.

Sony compensates Naughty Dog for creating games just for their platform. It's about securing exclusive titles to boost sales. True platform independence is essential—without it, I can't enjoy Uncharted on the PS3 at 30fps (until emulation becomes possible). On PC, I'd expect smooth performance above 60 fps with a mouse and keyboard. Disappointing, really.
