Hey everyone,
I'm reaching out today to figure out why my RTX 3070 is acting so poorly. I've listed all the details below, and any advice on upgrades or fixes would be greatly appreciated.

I've noticed others achieving smooth 200 FPS in BFV with a 3070 paired with a Ryzen 5 5600X, while I struggle with only 90-100 FPS under similar conditions and 50-60 FPS at 1080p on low settings.

Any suggestions or guidance would be immensely helpful. I've been searching for solutions for weeks without success. Thanks a lot!

If you aim to boost performance on a Z490 or Z590 motherboard, consider the B560 Tomhawk from MicroCenter at 180. The 10850k model costs 349. Remember to include your tax and use the RAM you already have. Don’t forget to upgrade your CPU or memory. Choose a reliable air cooler, preferably the fUMA 2.

The CPU performance gap between a 7700K and a 5600X is significant, with BFV being particularly demanding on the processor.

Compare benchmarks with others having identical CPUs and GPUs. A 5600x will provide higher FPS than a previous model. 10850k should also deliver better FPS.

They're still using ultra at 1080p, but my FPS remains around 120-144 with an i7 7700k and gtx 1080. I expect higher numbers.

I considered purchasing an i9 9900k and wondered if a different PSU would be necessary.

I must have missed it; I don't see your power supply. If you're doing extreme changes to the CPU, GPU, or RAM, you'll need a strong PS. The 9900k is more expensive than the 10850K. You'd likely have to upgrade your boards, but I'd suggest selling what you have and getting the 10850K with a new board. I'm not increasing the speed beyond the recommended limits.

Do you have a particular motherboard suggestion in mind?
