Hello everyone, welcome! I’m just starting out with PC gaming and noticed my CPU isn’t reaching its full potential—only 4.250 in games. Temperatures are between 60-65°C. Could you help me improve it? My setup includes a 3700X stock cooler, RTX 2070S, Super Gaming X Trio, motherboard ASUS ROG X570-F, 16GB RAM (2x8GB), AMD Ryzen tuned DDR4 dual kit, Corsair RM750x ATX PSU. Thanks!

First, check if your BIOS and chipset drivers are up to date. Next, confirm PBO is turned on. Then assess whether the cooler supports both PBO and actual boost performance. Finally, identify the game you're playing.

Thank you for the update on your CPU chipset drivers. Regarding PBO, your BIOS lists both AMD CBS and AMD OVERLCLOCKING options—decide which one fits your needs. Since your BIOS hasn’t been updated yet, ensure you apply the changes properly.

You don't really need to rely on pbo for boosting to 4.4. My 3700x rarely reaches 4.4 at stock settings, though it often lands around 4.3 with some variation—sometimes 4.39. A friend of mine with a 3700x consistently hits 4.4 during gaming or any CPU-heavy tasks. I’m not sure what your situation is. The stock cooler seems a bit odd to me, but temperatures appear normal. My cooler is a Noctua D15s.

You can either add the flashback USB port details to the update or use the BIOS to insert a USB stick containing the file.

4.4 offers single core boost under light stress...not sure why...looks like the game tends toward 4.25~4.3...my rig can push all cores to 4.4 at 0.14v with cooling on...
