I received a free year of Norton once, blocked my ports, and couldn’t play some multiplayer games. Rather than use a Norton remover tool, I just reinstalled Windows and everything functioned again. Over the years, I’ve been using Avast and occasionally running HitmanPro. To be honest, HitmanPro stands out as the top security software, solving many of my issues that other programs couldn’t handle.

I'm using AVG 2015 with a license and appreciate the added security from the add-in firewall. The free edition is also quite solid.

Norton? Seriously? I’d consider AVG free for free, though I usually dive into details but I’m exhausted. For paid options, Eset or Bitdefender are solid choices.
