It's interesting you're paying attention to CPU temps during gaming. The numbers you found suggest your Ryzen 3600 can safely handle the load, but staying below 70°C is generally good practice for longevity. Comparing it to older FX models shows it's within typical ranges, so you're likely in a safe zone unless you notice overheating signs.

But I recall the older Vishera CPUs had their highest temperature around 71°C. It even mentions this on AMD's site. https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/fx-8300 So, should I worry if I reach 70°C during gaming with my Ryzen 5 3600?

NFS stands out among titles; it handles performance exceptionally well. I've seen games built with Frostbite often bring temperatures up to 70°C, while most of the games I play keep me under 65°C.

The information suggests the Ryzen 5 3600 can safely reach up to 95°C during gaming. That temperature is within its typical safe operating range.

Your fan curve appears to be in good shape. If you remain unsure, consider tweaking the fan curves to achieve a balance between performance and noise levels.

My R5 3600 was overclocked to all-core 4100MHz, running at about 60 to 70°C in FH5 and RDR2. I wouldn't be concerned about it.

Are you exceeding available stock levels (meaning you're doing manual overclocking rather than relying solely on PBO or the stock boost)? If not, then the 95C temperature shown on AMD's specifications for these CPUs is the safe upper limit—just ensure you stay under it to stay within bounds. DICE (the developers behind Frostbite) were pioneers in handling multiple cores and threads effectively, and I think AVX instructions support that, which explains why Frostbite games ran so hot. That’s why Battlefield 1 was famously demanding on CPUs.

I understand, 70°C during gaming with a Ryzen chip is acceptable. Comparing temperatures to Vishera isn't useful since they're different processors. Vishera's concerns are specific and don't apply to other chips, such as Ryzen.
