the new pc gamer experiences crashes when the gpu temperature reaches about 65 to 67 degrees, which seems like a clear cause and fix, though i'm not sure of any advice. help would be greatly appreciated.
Absolutely, it definitely has the capacity to boost its performance and/or test a lower clock speed to observe the results.
The temperatures are acceptable for that GPU; likely another component is overheating if it's experiencing crashes due to heat.
CountMike shared his observations about the system. The temperatures are acceptable for the GPU, but he noticed the CPU temperature is high and crashes occur during games when the GPU exceeds 65 degrees. He mentioned using multiple monitoring tools to ensure accuracy.
There might also be a voltage drop at certain loads, affecting both the CPU and GPU. I wondered if this relates to power limits and whether raising the limit could assist. My PSU is 550 watts.
