The Unactivated Windows 10 functions through customization options and a visible watermark. It limits certain features beyond personalization, though remote desktop access is possible. Setting up a virtual machine remains functional.

The information comes from a general discussion, not a specific source. Most people believe it doesn’t last as long online.

Looking into the information available, it seems some users are encountering expiration issues with their Windows 10 licenses. Based on what I found online, keeping the activation key is essential to avoid such problems.

However, aside from securing personalization and applying a watermark, it may not function properly. You might want to consider using an unactivated Windows 10 version for testing purposes.

Consider purchasing a Kinguin Windows 10 key if you need it for your setup.

Yeah, but I would recommend just getting a key off of Reddit...Windows 7 / 8.1 is $25 for Pro, Windows 10 home is $40...I've bought several keys of Office 2016 and for friends, no issues so far. https://www.reddit.com/r/microsoftsoftwa...ice_visio/

Enterprise is mainly for linking to a primary domain name server; the advanced features aren't necessary for a home PC in most cases. I'd opt for Home or Pro instead. If you're interested in server management (which can be challenging), Windows Server 2016 Standard or Datacenter options are available.
