Hello, today I secured a free prize (still pending): > 16GB GOODRAM IRDM RGB Black Edition DDR4-3600 DIMM CL18 Dual Kit -> providing two 8GB modules. I planned to upgrade my system, but since I already have different RAM, I wanted to understand the pros and cons and decide what to do. As a beginner, I sought advice on compatibility. If mixing is possible, I need to know which channels to use. Should I opt for higher frequency or more GB? My main use is general desktop work, but gaming takes priority. My current configuration looks like this: Motherboard: B550 AORUS PRO (rev. 1.0) CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6x 3.70GHz SoAM4 BOX RAM: 32 GB (2x 16384 MB) G.Skill Aegis DDR4-3200 DIMM CL16-18-18-38 Dual Kit [currently in 2 & 4] GPU: Nvidia RTX 3080 FE PSU: 750 Watt Seasonic Focus GX Modular 80+ Gold With kind regards.

You're asking about the machine's purpose. Productivity needs 48GB RAM, but gaming might only require 32GB if you're playing specific titles. Most users stay under 16GB, though I suggest 32GB for modded games. The difference between a 3200MHz CL16 and a 3600MHZ CL18 will be almost imperceptible, even with Ryzen.
