I understand it might be done through BCLK, but I don't know the exact steps. What motherboard should I use since I can't find the setting on my GA-B85-HD3? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, apparently this was feasible before with more affordable chipsets, but I doubt it anymore. There might be a modded BIOS option, though I wouldn't bother with it.

I think a Z motherboard would work well for overclocking. The Z87, Z97, and X99 are likely suitable options. I might be mistaken, but I'm not an expert in this area.

if the cpu mentioned in your title isn't a non-k model, you won't be able to overclock it... but you might still want to, since it already runs at 4ghz with a boost up to 4.4ghz

you'd need a z97 motherboard and an i7 4790(k) cpu to make changes, but your processor is locked so you can't do that.

If you owned a Z series board, you could increase the Bclk to around 140 MHz or higher and boost the multi by 200 MHz beyond the turbo boost rate. But with a B board, you remain limited to the standard specifications.

It seems like this might have been achievable before with more affordable components, but now it doesn't appear to be possible. There could be a modded BIOS involved, though I wouldn't attempt it anyway.
