Only a faint sound is noticeable. It could mean debris is lodged in your RAM ports or you're using the incorrect slot configuration.

I have a few really narrow gaps that need a bit of effort to fit my sticks, plus some that are too loose. If it fits snugly and functions well, everything looks fine.
