Clear. Even with headphones on you can still hear it. I once needed to return a MSI Ventus 2080 Super because the coil whine was excessively loud. I received a replacement Palit 2080 Super that was much quieter. Of course, that wasn't a certainty. I could have chosen another Ventus with reduced whine or the Palit could have had even more noise. Still, most high-end GPUs today tend to produce some level of coil whine. PSUs, RAM, motherboards, and monitors can also exhibit this issue.
It's quite normal you didn't cause any damage. Staying static can be beneficial, though not always. Some games handle GPU usage differently, and coilwhine often spikes when the frame rate is higher. This pattern has happened with my cards over time. Look at the first video I shared—shifting his camera in the game really alters the coilwhine level. From a technical standpoint, it's not a major issue. But I get what you're saying. As long as everything functions outside of that noise, you're safe. Fingers crossed we've eased your concerns.
