I run Windows 7 for gaming or video editing tasks. For most of my use, I switch to Ubuntu 18.04 since it’s smooth and many of my games (like Dirt Rally, Source engine titles, Bioshock, Borderlands 2, Terraria, etc.) work without Wine.

I worked with Linux Mind for a while but the graphics driver support for the RX4xx was quite poor. I had to rely on outdated 2012-compatible GPU drivers, which only provided around -40 to -50 frames per second in games. However, the live flash drives and discs still worked well for streaming porn.

Windows 10 paired with a HDD definitely creates a frustrating experience. It's not significantly faster than an SSD, but it's still much better than a typical hard drive. Last year I upgraded from Win7 Pro to Win7 Ultimate to enable Bitlocker security, and I intend to keep using that version until Win7 reaches its end of life in January 2020. Both systems support dual-booting with a dedicated Linux SSD, though they mostly run in Windows. My laptop runs entirely on Linux. By 2020 I plan to erase all Windows partitions. I won't be transitioning to Windows 8.1 or another version.
