You can perform a fresh install of Windows through the settings in Windows 8, but it depends on how you proceed. If you select recovery and follow the prompts, you may be asked to delete everything and reinstall Windows. Pressing that option would erase your current data, so you’d need to purchase a new Windows license afterward.
