It was set to optimal power by default. The display runs at 3840x2160 if that matters. Also, regarding MSI afterburner, is the auto fan activated when the button turns red?

you can adjust those options for a specific program if you prefer. i wouldn't apply them globally since it might affect the card's throttling properly and you don't want to keep the card running at high performance constantly. some games have reported minor performance gains by enabling maximum performance and single monitor optimization, but most mature AAA games should already have these settings fine-tuned automatically. however, it's not harmful to test it.
