Steam also offers an image creation tool. You choose the games you wish to save, and it generates an ISO file. You can place that file in any location you prefer, and then Steam will rebuild the games from it whenever needed. It seems to be labeled "Backup" in some options, possibly under "Settings." I haven't used it recently.

Based on the game, such as Witcher3 or any with heavy loading screens, switching from HDD to SSD can drastically cut load times—down to a third of the original duration. You can also experiment with different Steam game locations, and place games that take a long time to load on the SSD for faster performance.

You can simply point steam toward your libraries folder without needing to redownload games, it doesn’t affect performance at all.
