I'm planning to replace my CPU from an R3 3200G to a R5 3600 but I'm unsure if I need to change my BIOS. I'm not very familiar with updating BIOS, so I'd prefer not to do it. Here are my PC details: CPU model R3 3200G, GPU GTX 1050 Ti (soon to be RX 6600), motherboard Asus A320M-K, 2x8 CPUs from Corsair LPX Vengeance, power supply Black 500 Coolbox, and I'll also upgrade the GPU.

They've received assistance starting with BIOS version 4801. You don't need to worry about it. https://www.asus.com/motherboards-compon...ME-A320M-K

You don't need to refresh your bios because both cpus come from the same line. If it was a 5000 series model, an update would be necessary.

I’m not sure about the BIOS setup process, but it usually appears as a version number in the top left when starting your PC. For a 3600 processor, you don’t need to update the BIOS if it’s 4801 or newer.

The 3200g model is actually a Picasso 12nm Zen+ chip, while the 3600 uses a 7nm Matisse+ Zen 2 architecture. They don't belong to the same generation.

Sure, I understand. The AMD numbering system can be quite perplexing at times.

It's completely understandable to feel confused about this situation. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, and it's good you're paying attention to the details.
