the name clearly states the situation. my chinese x99 motherboard uses sdi rus for driver installation on windows, but i'm curious about doing the same on linux.

The contrast of Linux. Typically you don’t require drivers. If you must, luck you have. The only exception is Nvidia graphics cards, which are usually missing but can be added quickly.

If the motherboard isn't compatible, installing Linux becomes impossible regardless of whether a live environment is available.
