During installation, you may need to reinstall some drivers and system components. This includes motherboard, graphics, and chipset drivers. Your data and files remain safe unless you intentionally back them up.

It depends on the situation. If you're running Windows 7, you might need to reinstall your driver to get 8.1 or if it's available, 10. It works with Windows 8.1 but isn't guaranteed. You could lose files during the process or encounter corrupted files.

It's not as if everything disappears overnight. A backup is essential, yet straightforward and easy to handle once you receive the upgrade notice.

With Windows 10 you no longer require as many drivers as before, allowing a clean installation. Initially, I only needed to install graphics drivers, and LAN or audio drivers were handled automatically by the system. Eventually, it even added its own graphics drivers on its own. It also installed Engineering Sample drivers when necessary because AMD didn’t provide a proper WDDM 2.0 driver for Windows 10 until version 15.7. On laptops, I didn’t install any additional drivers since I didn’t need the latest graphics updates for non-gaming purposes. For upgrading to Windows 10, the main changes involve reinstalling graphics drivers to access new DirectX features.

I added the MBOO drivers and graphics drivers for Windows 7 to Windows 10. This might seem unnecessary since there are no driver choices for different systems.

I placed the Windows 7 graphics drivers on the motherboard, but they might not work well with Windows 10.

It's not about compatibility issues. Windows often installs drivers automatically. If it finds a superior version, it will handle the update for you.
