I attempt to sell a trading card, but the system requires using the mobile authentication app or my item will be on hold for up to 15 days. Since the app is only available on iOS and Android, I can't use it with my Windows Phone. Why doesn’t it allow me to sell cards like Steam does? Is there a workaround, or do I need to purchase a new phone to trade cards, or just wait for the hold period to end?

I faced the same situation. My kids used a tablet for mobile login, but my selling cards were frozen. It seems you're stuck either way. There doesn't appear to be an easy solution.

No there is no other way. And if you manage to use mobile authentication on IOS/Android, you still have to wait 1 week for selling stuff on steam market.

They might add it because they think it will attract more users, even though it’s unnecessary and confusing.

Great photo but it’s really the simplest thing ever to happen on Steam.

It wasn't created recently. They introduced it a long time ago mainly to protect the trading system for items.

Windows phones become bothersome fast. It’s hard not to think about getting a budget Android device for this situation.

Get an Android emulator such as Bluestacks, which I used before my phone stopped working.

I really enjoy my WP, though it has some drawbacks such as app support. At this point I won’t return. @FirstArmada But I don’t want to install an emulator—Steam seems to be making it difficult and confusing. I’m just not going to use the market. So far my friends have agreed not to either. We’re probably just a small group, but hopefully if many develop this attitude it could signal to Valve. Not sure if they pay attention, but whatever.

My website runs well, but I rely on certain apps such as online banking and some games.
