Consider your setup carefully. You have an i5 7400 and plan to upgrade with a BX500 SSD, two 8GB DDR4 RAM sticks, and graphics cards ranging from Corsair Spec 05 to CX650/550. Your monitor is 60Hz, which may limit performance. You mentioned needing around 60 FPS for most games, except for CPU-heavy titles where 30 FPS should suffice. Since you won’t be using ray tracing, that’s a plus. Decide if you want to prioritize gaming performance or stick with your budget goals.

60hz works perfectly. FPS above that usually won’t cause problems, though you might notice screen tearing. Your display can’t actually show anything faster than 60, but it shouldn’t affect your gameplay. A higher refresh rate does offer better smoothness and a better feel, but 60 remains perfectly acceptable.

Sure, I understand. You're asking if the speed is 60 plus FPS.

You might experience higher frame rates, but the screen won’t show them properly, causing them to disappear.

You can't generalize about performance across all games. Your CPU is fine, and 60Hz is a solid choice. Higher FPS can improve the experience, but it depends on your budget. If the price fits locally, a 2060s GPU offers better longevity. Different titles require varying GPU power. Just pick the games you enjoy and adjust accordingly. You'll run all PS4 titles at high settings.

To what degree, similar to a 20-30 fps reduction or a 5-10 fps decrease? Apologies if I’m bothering you, as I’m still learning.

You wouldn't notice or sense the drops.

So the real output will be limited, huh?

It will remain uncapped, but your monitor can only show 60 frames per second. Even if you have a higher frame rate like 150 fps, it will only display 60 per second. You won’t notice the difference in experience or visuals, though there might be some minor screen tearing.
