The free update for Windows 10 arrived, and I installed it successfully for about two weeks. Later, some compatibility issues forced me to revert to version 7. After replacing my CPU and motherboard, I’m planning to reinstall Windows 10. I’m wondering if I can still use the Windows 7 key I used during that upgrade.

No, I didn't link it to your Microsoft account during the upgrade.

From what I gathered through my research, getting a digital license appears to allow reuse without restrictions, enabling future installations as long as the key remains valid. I’m confident this applies because the key is authentic.

It captures a picture of the system's components, meaning if you switch the board you won't trigger it immediately (unless linked to a Microsoft account). After 1511 they permitted using the 7-key to launch Windows. This should likely function.
