You recently reinstalled Windows on your old laptop and connected it to your Microsoft account. The system automatically licensed Windows by detecting the OEM key. Even though it's an OEM key, it should work in a virtual machine.

I rely on it whenever I move software from one computer to another. It sometimes displays the Windows key as well, but I don’t recall it anymore.
