Hello. I'm using an i3-6100 with a Z170 board and some modern components. I'm curious if I could run Windows 98 on a separate HDD for fun. I have the disc ready, and I also have Windows 95 and 2000 Professional. Can any of these versions work with my setup? I just want to avoid wasting time if it doesn't actually function.

It shouldn't because of the potential risks involved.

The issue lies in the fact that Windows 98 belongs to an older time, and modern hardware isn't compatible. Even if you try to run it, it won't function properly.

Windows 98 fails to start when RAM exceeds 1.5GB. NT-based systems work but stay under 3GB.
