So yeah, went to install Windows 8.1 onto project frankenstein using an 8.1 code only used once before. The code didn't work, and I thought that was odd. I soon realized that it was installing Windows 10. Went to try again, did the same thing. Why? Is it not possible to just install 8.1 anymore? Why is this so confusing? Why am I asking so many questions?
The software is designed for version 10. The issue seems to be that the ISO attempts to install Windows 10 directly.
It was clearly a Yumi Multiboot drive running Windows 8.1 Home, Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 Pro, and the Windows Tech preview. It also included Clonezilla and Dban. I’m not sure if Yumi reacted strongly to the changes, but I don’t have any of those .iso files left—they vanished after I installed a fresh copy on my main computer about a month ago.
I wasn't able to respond, I only connect individual drives for each operating system.
What should you do next? Your friend connects you to .iso files and offers his corporate Windows keys, but he's in the military and is currently causing trouble at Camp Blanding. You have two options: wait until then or try to find a Windows 8.1 home ISO yourself.
