Based on the version you select, the details change accordingly. For example, WinX 1511 is around 3.3GB, WinX 1607 is approximately 3,99GB, and all versions total about 5,88GB. You might need a double-layer DVD since they’re large enough. Using USB would be more affordable, simpler, and compact—download the media creation tool from Microsoft and generate your install dongle.

I already possess a 3.5 or 3.7 gb flash drive, and I only use it occasionally. DVDs are significantly more affordable compared to flash drives.

You should be fine but to be completely honest, there's no reason not to use a 8GB or 16GB USB...

I've noticed 8GB flash drives being sold for about $5 to $6 in stores before. The cost is minimal, and Windows will boot up much quicker than with slower optical discs.

Also, you can format the USB stick and repurpose it later after installing Windows. So yes, opt for an 8GB drive.
