Your PC lacks internet access because Wi-Fi isn't integrated, and running an Ethernet cable to the modem is impractical. You'll need a wired connection solution. The best option depends on your setup—consider a router, modem adapter, or a wired network extension depending on available space and requirements.

simplest option: use a USB Wi-Fi adapter. If you're not too concerned about the slight increase in latency versus Ethernet, opt for a PowerLink adapter. (still, Ethernet remains superior)

As mentioned earlier, playing online on Wi-Fi is never ideal. Powerline offers a better alternative, though its stability can vary based on your home's wiring. Generally, a Wi-Fi adapter provides the most affordable option, but it may also be the least fast.

The top choice remains a cable. Yet, WiFi cards offer great value. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0789G...i=13983711

I checked for Powerline connections via Wi-Fi and found it usually works better. Do you think running Ethernet would be an option?

How close is your router to you? If it’s too far for Ethernet, it’s also too far for Wi-Fi.

Thus likely beyond practical use for Powerline either.

Avoid following others' advice. Not everyone is into drilling holes in walls just to connect Ethernet cables between dorm rooms (especially if you’re renting a place like mine). You need reliable Wi-Fi, AC WiFi with strong coverage, and dual-band support! As long as the speed meets 50mbps or higher, it should handle your competitive gaming needs. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00VEEBOP...ref=plSrch get this. I prefer the Alfa brand because it works perfectly on my Linux machine.

I placed my router downstairs, right under my man cave, and just got a long ethernet cable. I ran it through the carpet using adhesive tags along the stairs. Everything looks neat, but drilling isn’t allowed since the house is a rental under Sods law. We’re renovating the back bedroom, and we’ve found a spare port on the upper floor...*facedesk*
