Currently not available, but I’ll place a pre-order for Battlefield Hardline the day before it releases.

I previously pre-ordered a game, Payday 2. I spent roughly 100 to 200 hours on it and the $40 price tag was quite good. Beyond that, I haven’t played much else. I’m not planning to play much more.

Ordering the game beforehand shows a lack of discipline. Trailers can be very persuasive, but purchasing the widely available version before release is a mistake. Consider waiting a few more days, checking reviews on YouTube, and trying it out with your current hardware before making a decision.

TL;DR - Nope, never. Last preorder was smash bros, before that it was mass effect 2. I have rules when it comes to this, primarily because of my experiences as a former Gamestop manager and being burned by games that "look" good too often. I never pre-order games. There is always a surplus of games shipped to most stores despite them claiming otherwise. It's giving the developer free money for products that could potentially be broken and I think it sends the wrong message to the gaming industry (from a consumer standpoint). Seeing how most games are being released in a broken or what I call beta state, its not worth my hard earned money. I wait until the worst of the bugs are ironed out before I consider it again. I never base a game off the trailer, ever (which is why I wish we had access to more demos, but of course the industry considers it a bad idea). And a lot of games go on sale not even a month after a games release, no reason to rush and get a game day 1.

Consider purchasing during a discount period and hold off until issues are resolved.

Why? Why not just buy the game on launch day?

It's best to reserve your copy on Origin now. The chance of issues has disappeared with Origin. If the game isn't good, just return it.

It can seem out of control to some, but for others it offers a completely different experience. I was certain I’d buy the game right away, despite the lingering doubts about its quality. The price will stay consistent, so why wait for launch? I’m not even sure I’ll be able to play it then, but since I’m comfortable with the risk, I’m willing to commit right now. Right now I’ve preordered GTA V—it’s a title I’m genuinely excited about and believe will succeed, though failure is always possible. There are plenty of examples where things didn’t go as planned. Those who constantly criticize companies and demand refunds are wasting their time. If you want to make a real impact, bring people together with focused goals that grab attention from developers. A forum filled with short comments won’t change anything; it’s easy for anyone to dismiss your voice. If you truly want change, dig deeper into what needs improvement and stop just making general complaints. A clear standard should exist for key aspects before release, and it’s up to you to push for that. This isn’t a quick fix—it requires effort and persistence if you’re serious about making a difference.
