It’s been brought up that I seldom use Steam anymore. If I do, it would likely be just a couple of games. Right now I don’t have a functioning PC that can handle them, and I need funds for repairs. Could there be any chance to sell it? Perhaps to someone who owns the machine but doesn’t have Steam installed? My device is worth around £680, though I’m not insisting on selling it. Would there be any way to do this without violating Steam’s rules? I’m aware that doing so would require changes and other steps. Before anyone tells me no several times, I realize it’s unusual, but could it actually happen? I’d rather pass it on to someone who would properly care for it than lose money on something that won’t be used again.
It's not allowed by policy, but you're still permitted to sell it.
It violates the Steams subscription terms. They also don’t monitor users to detect account sales.
Likely against guidelines, but if you offer it to a relative or acquaintance, who would mind? I’d just alter the password and strip out any private details. EDIT: Also, delete any linked credit card accounts or similar. I’d also list it for 80% of its value.
It seems like you're reflecting on a situation where something might be better handled by someone more suited for it. It's reasonable to consider that way.
It's not ideal but possible. There was a business that ran into a lot of issues, but doing it on a lower price should work fine. Remember, you won't reach its value—my library is worth around 1400$. I definitely didn’t pay that much. Most items were sold at discounts, and even if I sold it, most buyers wouldn’t pay full price. What about the Pentium+960 combo? I’m considering doing sidegrading for an SSF machine. It might be built into an Xbox if I manage to fit it in.
Their rules don’t get properly applied since the deal doesn’t always meet laws in many places. You’re free to handle your assets as you see fit, no matter what they are.
It's a solid choice, isn't it? The Pentium paired with the 960 combo works great for gaming and browsing. It runs smoothly, handles high frame rates on ultra settings, and even after overclocking, it stays fast. You're absolutely right about that!
