I'm having trouble getting the Steam Deck OLED out of HDR mode. CrossCode is a good game, but it tends to show overly bright colors in HDR. It's simple on Windows by disabling HDR in the OS settings, but I can't locate a similar option for the Steam Deck. Streaming from my PC works, though I can't do it easily while traveling. I've looked for commands in Steam's launch options without success.

You might need to enable HDR in the game settings, or use a version lower than 7.xx if it wasn’t available. It’s likely the game will launch in standard definition.

Thanks for the suggestion to move to 7.x.x. The 7.0-6 version didn’t have HDR settings, but it seems there were recent changes to the game that added HDR options. Players are handling it by disabling HDR in Windows or using the beta branch, though it’s not perfect. Switching to a compatibility mode without HDR support works best and is the most reliable solution. I hope this update gets noticed!

For record keeping I believed I could implement SDR without downgrading Proton, possibly for CrossCode and maybe other titles as well. Include the following in launch settings: DXVK_HDR=0 %command% Source: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/issues/1227
